The way the Indian crowd has behaved in the second T20 played between South Africa and India was an eye opener for the BCCI.
The match had slipped out of the hands of the Indian team and the Cuttack crowd didn’t accepted defeat in the rage of their emotions and anger. The crowd went ballistic and not only they verbally abused the Indian players but also threw bottles at them.
Some even put a few corners of the stadium on fire. The police was called in to control the situation. After that, before the third ODI which turned out to be the decider for the series came under serious threats from Shivsena.
A lot of security was deployed inside and outside the stadium for the match. This is not the way games are played. The stadium gave the impression of being a warzone where on every few feet you could witness a uniform.
